Laundry Day by Jazmin Y

Today was a really fun day. We had a laundry day and time on the spit. We were all well rested because we got to sleep in. after we all ate our breakfast and woke up we went to go do our laundry. There were three laundry mats that three of the vans out of 9 vans went to. While our laundry was washing most of us took a shower. The laundry mat I went to the showers where $4 for 10 minutes. Which is pretty good compared to al the rest of the places we’ve gone. For the washers you had to put in $3 for a one load and one quarter to dry your clothes for 10 minutes.

Laundry was not the only thing we did. After we cleaned our clothes and took a shower. We went onto the “spit”. The spit is a long narrow strip of land that had many of stores and shops. The spit was a very big tourist attraction. One of the many favorite stores that most of our group went to was the “Salty Dawg”.  Isabell .D. said she liked the spit because they had a lot of cool stores there. She also said that one of her favorite store was a store called the spirt of Alaska. Ishtar also commented that he liked the chocolate bread that was also found on the spit in a shop called the “Two Sisters Bakery”.

When we left the spit around 3:00pm we went into the open field behind the our tents to play some games. One of the games we played was sharks and whales. As many of you know In Michigan as sharks and minnows. Another fun game we played was a blindfold game. we were split up into our van groups and we had one bandana that we would use to cover our eyes. As our leader picked a spot in the open field, the first person would have a bandana over his/her eyes. Then the person behind them would tell them which way to go to get to our leaders. The faster we got all of our van to touch the leaders hand the faster we would win. But the tricky part in the leader moved when it was a new persons turn. Even though today was a chill day we all still had lots of fun. I speak for all when I say we love and miss you all.

A Day Downtown by Laura M

Today, we were allowed to sleep in!! We were woken up at 9:30. We all felt well rested. We then had breakfast and headed off to go do some needed laundry! Half of the vans went straight to do laundry, the other half went shopping on the Spit for an hour before they did their laundry. It took both groups about two hours to do their laundry. While we did our laundry we had the option to shower. I’m pretty sure that everyone did. We all smell so much better now! Then we returned back to Seaside Farms. Once we all got back we played games such as sharks and minnows and games where we blindfolded people and had them go to a spot while being guided. It was fun and I guess you could say it was good for team building. Today, was our day for relaxing. “I liked going shopping on the spit. I liked all the unique stuff at The Better Sweater. And I liked to take showers. And doing laundry was fun.” Lauren P said. I agree! Jazmin Y said, “Probably taking a shower! And the spit because there are a lot of cool stores.”
