Hatcher's Pass by Jazmin Y

Today has been a day to never forget. As we wake up to hungry stomach and tired eyes. We come to find out that our day will turn out to be much bigger then it looks. After we woke up, ate our granola bars for breakfast, and got ready to head out to hatchers pass. We hear a story about a brave woman. A woman who fought for her life and who had always wanted to go to Alaska. As we listen on we her she died from cancer and that now her ash that remains will now be placed in the river. She always wanted to go to Alaska and now she will always be in Alaska.

As we move on up to the top of Hatcher Pass we stop at a small pond to take pictures. It turns out most of us would rather climb a mountain and take pictures up at the top. Therefore a handful of us went out on a limb and started to climb our 4th mountain. We soon fond out that we would have to come back down when we got half way up. But two of our participants did not get the message and went up to the top. On our way down we found snow and knew what had to be done. We slid down the snow patches while others stood at the base taking pictures.

After all of us got down off of the mountain we went on to the top of Hatchers Pass. When we got to the parking lot Ishtar explained that there would be a gold panning experience, another hiking experience, and more buildings that we could go into. Therefore we all split up and went to what we thought would be most interesting to us. Jess went to the gold panning and said that her experience there was interesting and fun to learn about how much time and effort it takes to put into the panning a day.

On our way back to the church in palmer, we stopped at the place we stopped the first time. We then went over to the water and dunked our heads into the water. Evan .c. said he dunked his head into the water 3 times and fell in. Isabel .s. dunked her head into the water twice and she said it was very cold but fun. Many of us got wet but had tones of fun. Today was just fun in general.
