Alaska Is

Alaska is the complete opposite of what I’m used to. Every city has its individual beauty. I’ve gone from fields and hills to big boulders and mountains that look like their tips touch the sky. Alaska is so natural and fresh. I truly feel healthier by breathing in the crisp, clean air. Alaska is mind changing.

Final Reflections

As I’m writing this reflection I have the privilege to look at beautiful, unique, and defined sceneries that can’t be seen other places. This is what I have dealt with the past three and a half weeks in Alaska. The fresh, clean air and the sounds of things are completely indescribable. I’ve had the chance to meet people that I feel I would never even say a word to otherwise. Everyone on this trip has a positive and motivational attitude. I have really been able to open up to everyone here because we all know that we have experienced things that are not normally experienced by children our age. We’ve all become a family. I have had the chance to watch not only myself but the participants grow and change their views on life. It’s amazing what a month can do to someone. The responsibility and reliability have changed drastically. Being a junior leader is so much more different and comes with a lot of work also. This has made me a stronger and less reliable person. My leadership has increased, and I have been inspired by so many on this trip on how to increase my leadership. I thank Ishtar and everyone who made this trip possible for us.
