Alaska Is

Alaska is a dream. The people we meet and the places we see are too nice and too beautiful to be real. No picture and no person can tell you every detail. You have to be here yourself to know what I mean. This really is a dream that you never want to wake up from.

Final Reflections

Looking back on Alaska I realize it has changed me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. During this trip, I have learned how to be more responsible in the way that now I don’t really need to rely on my mom, dad, or family to take care of me. I realize that Alaska is more than just a place, it is a teacher who teaches us life lessons like the nig things from being responsible, respectful, kind, and little things like cleaning up or making someone’s day.
My favorite memory of the trip is going to Hatcher Pass. We had so much fun climbing to the top then sliding down so the adults wouldn’t yell at us. I remember sliding down the snow in my rain pants that I thought would keep me warm, but really just make me more cold because the snow would get stuck in my pants. Overall Alaska is my favorite state I have been to. It changed me from a mama’s boy to a young man, or so I think. I hope I can come back to the great state of Alaska and help others as the Junior Leaders and the drivers have helped me. Love you Alaska.
