Alaska Is

Alaska is very breath taking. I was in total awe driving and seeing nothing but mountains and gorgeous country. The area to the north is so different than the area to the south and we have just gotten to the south. It is pretty exciting climbing and hiking and seeing all the animals in their environment. I am very blessed to have been a part of this experience.

Final Reflections

Wow, what a great experience. I really didn’t know what to expect because I have always heard how beautiful Alaska is.
I remember when we landed in Anchorage and got off the plane I was in awe at the mountains.
As I’m sitting here at the church writing this I’m looking out the church window and still the view of the mountains with snow takes my breath away. I don’t think I can ever get tired of looking at the mountains.
As a group of about 75 people we have let a lot of things- experiences into these three and a half weeks. I know personally I would have never done some of these things or stopped at some of the places if it were not mapped out.
I have been trying to think of just one thing that stands out- that is special it is very hard to do. Each and every thing we did made some kind of impression on me.
The one accomplishment would probably be climbing the Butte the first time. It was the hardest climb and I stopped a lot.
I just kept telling myself that I was not going to be one that didn’t make it to the top. It took a lot out of me but I made it. What a great feeling.
The one thing that I’m glad that I did was keep a journal for the whole trip, I have traveled a lot but never kept a journal. I think that I will truly enjoy reading about my experience- as time passes. It wasn’t a vacation it was a true experience- one that I’m glad I got to have.
