Alaska Is

              Alaska is a learning adventure.
The great scenery along with the wildlife and animals are just fantastic. Whether you're climbing a mountain or riding a boat Alaska is a great experience for everyone and there is always something to see or do. The possibilities are endless.
Alaska not only contains amazing scenery and wildlife but it also teaches us about ourselves. We start to understand our ideas and goals and truly learn about our morale. By the time this adventure is over we will be a different person and have more experience in being a leader and being independent.
There is no other place like Alaska anywhere in the world.

Final Reflections

Alaska has been quite an experience.  In the past three weeks I’ve been able to experience and learn a lot of new things. I have climbed mountains, ran a 10K, gone whale watching, seen lots of cool things in museums, and so much more. I have even seen a wolf and a moose right in front of me. Wow, this is something I will never forget. Also, I was selected as one of the 6 people who got to go halibut fishing. I was really excited to go fishing and couldn’t wait. While reeling the fish in I had quite a surprise. I had this happy feeling and I couldn’t believe that I had hooked a 25 pounder.  It was the greatest feeling.
Not only does Alaska contain great scenery and wildlife, but also it teaches you how to become a better person. While in Alaska you learn how to be independent and how to work well with others you may or may not know. You get to make new friends and by the end of the trip they become like family to you. This project has also taught be how to become a better leader and how to adapt to different situations to help solve conflicts as they arise.
I would just like to say that I’m really thankful to have been part of this project not only once, but also as a Junior Leader this year. Even though it’s my second year back I’ve had quite a different and unique experience from the first year I went.
