Alaska Is

Alaska is kindness. After many years of traveling with the AGLP I have found so much kindness in the Alaskan residents and all of the new participants have also been so kind. Kindness is also the word I like to use to describe our Alaskan families.
Thank you AGLP for being so kind in making my Alaskan adventure great.

Final Reflections

As I reflect back on my 14th adventure with the AGLP I find every adventure is different.
The 2012 group stands out on all kind of things, from seeing our Alaskan families to bonding with all of the 74 participants. As I look back I can hardly remember the 85 degree and hot weather in Fairbanks on all to all of the rain in Homer. But I do remember all the great times I had in seeing these young people grow and knowing what better leaders they will be in the future.
I also like to reflect on our Alaskan family. I can catch up on hunting with Clint and bond with Emily and Boone. At Grizzly Bear Campground I can have a drink with Jack and Eddie to celebrate their 57th wedding anniversary. I enjoy talking to Eddie about hers and mine knee replacements and talking to Father Tim about his friend’s 90 pound cabbage to about everything else you can talk about. What great friends!
When I get to Homer Seaside Farms, I get caught up with Mossy, but I really enjoy talking to Mossy’s husband Connie about his truck that is similar to mine and it broke so I think we have the same problem with our trucks. Over all it is such a good feeling to have all the Alaskan people welcome us with open arms. The AGLP has been a great experience in my life.
