I never though coming to Alaska would make me realize how much I would miss my family, yet allow myself to prove to everyone that I can be independent, strong, and responsible. Climbing a mountain can be really difficult. Maybe camping out for three and a half weeks is hard. Still, through all the tough times I will never regret anything because coming to Alaska let me see hundreds of wild animals you would not ever see in Michigan. Allowed me to wake up every morning to see snow covered mountains. Let me go camping for a little under a month without my family, but instead with me friends from school. I am glad I was accepted into the Alaska Great Lakes Project. I will never forget it.
