Joshua Kilbourn – Day 6

Joshua Kilbourn- Day 6
As I woke up this morning, I quickly packed my stuff and got ready to head out. We left Grizzly Bear Campgrounds in Denali National Park, and we headed out for Fairbanks. I then quickly wolfed down my Honey Bunches of Oats.Even though we get to come back on the way back, I was still a little disappointed, as this has been my favorite camping place so far. I was still very exited for Fairbanks though.
The ride there was a little slow. It was supposed to take only about two hours, but because of road construction, it ended up being about 3 or 4 hours. My van was still able to make the ride fun, as we jammed out to music and played various van games. We also made several stops, and we were able to buy various things at the shops.
When we arrived in Fairbanks, we got the best luck: it was pouring rain. Due to this rain, we had a slight delay pitching our tents. It was even hard to find a spot, because our campground is has many dips, and we would rather not wake up in a puddle of water. For a short time, we thought we might have to sleep in our vans, which I did not want to do. It would be very cramped.
After what seemed like forever, it stopped raining and we were able to pitch our tents. After that, we ate a delicious dinner of hamburgers and we had some free time. I played Uno with some friends (but then it started to rain again). Tomorrow, we have a busy day though. We get to do a lot of sightseeing, being able to see the Alaskan Native Heritage Museum and the University of Fairbanks book store.
