Mike Sitar – Day 9

Mike Sitar Day 9

I woke up to the awful pains of soreness, only now do I regret running the full Midnight Sun Run. Trying to get to the showers was just a daze. I lost both my underwear and my socks on the way over. When I opened up the bathroom door, my arms became weak and rubbery letting it fall back to its previous position. Once the struggle of getting to the showers was over, I found out it was really worth it because there is nothing that wakes me up for an exciting day better than a morning shower.

After my morning dilemma everyone packed up their tents and cleaned up the the camp to “Make it look like we were never there”. After we had the vans prepared, we traveled to downtown Fairbanks for the summer Solstice Festival. The festival consisted of multiple tents filled with food, art, and political campaigns. The main thing I bought was food. At the end of the festival it became time for us to go to Denali.

Even though I was going to miss Fairbanks, I was excited to come back to Grizzly Bear Campground in Denali. The drive was easy and fun, my van and I decided that we were going to sing and dance to the song “Happy” by Pharrel. Once back to Grizzly Bear we popped our tents back up (much faster than usual) and my van made goulash for dinner. I then ended my night by working on the website and journaling.
