Mike Sitar Day 7

Day 7

Mike Sitar

Today flew by faster than any other. It was just a blur, from going to the Museum of the North to the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) bookstore. I hope the rest of the trip doesn’t go by this fast. Looking on the bright side, I am starting to get the hang of things around the camp; by that I mean I know how to wash my dishes, the names of the people around, and what to do when it is my vans turn to make food.

To start off my day I had a wonderful bowl of Apple Jacks. The sixty or so people of AGLP and I then hopped into our vans to go to three different parts of UAF, The Museum of the North, The Large Animals Exhibit, and The UAF Bookstore. The ride over was very short, ten minutes tops. Once at the museum we were reminded that we had to write down ten especially interesting things and a fact about them. Getting ten things to write down in my journal was pretty easy because there were so many different exhibits to choose. From modern art to stuffed bears, they had everything.

We then went to The Large Animals Exhibit. There were only reindeer and muskox for us to see outside because the caribou where being used for a science project. The best part of this exhibit was that the reindeer would come right close to you, yet act like you weren’t even there. Once we had finished there, we had PB&J for lunch and went to the UAF bookstore. The Store had every kind of college apparel you could ask for; it even had a handy dandy post office below for you to ship any postcards you had.

Right now we have one hour until dinner (which will be spaghetti and meatballs) then afterwards we will go to a panner’s baseball game, so I thought it would be a perfect time to write an article. I am extremely excited to go to North Pole tomorrow and swim if the weathers nice. Even though I hope there aren’t any more days that speed by like this one, I wouldn’t change a thing about today.
